About us

It all began with an idea. Joanne had always wanted to have her own gallery, and so did her father, Neal. Neal had raised Joanne and her two younger siblings selling art at art shows all across the eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida. In July of 2000, after the birth of her first child, Joanne and Neal decided to open up the “Parent Gallery” on Main Street in Belfast as co-owners, not knowing how things would go.

They have seen the gallery and town grow and change throughout their 20 years in business. In October of 2019, Joanne took over as the sole owner of the gallery and renamed the business Parent Fine Art. Neal still spends much of his time in the gallery when he is not teaching and traveling the world with students.

As of July 4th 2021, Parent Fine Art celebrated 20 years in business and continues to watch the town thrive and grow from the corner of Main and High. We hope to see you when you visit Belfast!
